When I asked him what it's like to have kids
When your little girls had just been born I asked him what it’s like to have kids. He answered in his usual joking way that the only problem is that when one girl falls asleep the other wakes up and vice versa, and when one is full the other is hungry, so you never get a moment’s peace—but it’s the most beautiful thing that ever happened to him and worth every bit of the effort.
I remember how he rode off on one wheel on his scooter from our workplace, under the astonished stares of passersby.
At Grandpa’s in Bucov, at an unforgettable party, he went after some thieves with a shotgun.
Years and years later, in that same place, he introduced us to your girls for the first time.
I often bring him up in my childhood stories as a model of a real man—brave and always chasing adrenaline.
The only time he ever asked me for something was for a friend, Cristian. That’s how he was—selfless.
Daiana, please tell us if we can help with anything, anything at all!
