A Call to Vote
I don’t get involved in politics; on principle, I hate how dirty it is. But today I saw an interesting clip at Cristian’s, which made me wonder if we Romanians care. Who knows what Darfur is? Do we really think twice before filling up the gas tank? Do we care about the ice caps? I don’t think so.
That’s why the Romanian electorate that politicians can manipulate is also made up of people indifferent to politics, disgusted by what they see, aware that they represent a group of people that politicians rely on, as my political science professor Antonio Momoc used to say. For a long time I placed myself in this group. It’s my right NOT to vote. It’s my right to be easily manipulated. It’s my right to be indifferent.
Meanwhile I’ve changed my mind and nowadays I vote. It doesn’t really matter whom I vote for. But I vote. And this is my right, but at least this way I don’t play into anyone’s hands.

E dreptul fiecaruia sa nu voteze, dar in felul asta isi pierde dreptul de a nu fi multumit de rezultatul scrutinului, si mai departe, de orice alegere a “celor alesi”, nu ca ar conta prea mult sau ca ar schimba ceva, dar pe om il ajuta sa aiba pe cine da vina, mai ales cand are oarecum dreptate!
